During 2011 Howie taught two photo workshops in Digital Outdoor Photography. This is designed as two
separate half day sessions for up to 6 people. Participants of workshops wrote the following comments.
Course would be appropriate for a serious amateur photographer, but contains information that
would be helpful for a professional photographer as well. Course would be most useful for someone
attempting to master a digital SLR camera with an interest in outdoor photography.
The first 4 hour session covers composition, exposure, essential controls of Digital SLR cameras,
histogram interpretation, camera stabilization techniques, high dynamic range, auto vs manual focus,
and depth of focus.
The second 5 hour session includes a field trip to Tracy Aviary or other nearby location. Participants will
use their own cameras. After a couple of hours of photography, a second session includes downloading
images and demonstrating basic post production techniques with Adobe software.
Course can be customized according to participant's special interests.
Information about upcoming courses will be posted here.
